The company Winfried Thiemeyer Holzimport was founded in 1986 in Dörentrup by Winfried Thiemeyer. Since then it has been known as a fair and reliable partner within the timber trade industry.

 

In the early years the company focused on the import and sale of exotic timber and sawn timber particularly to the carpenters in Germany. Strong and long lasting relationships have been established with customers and suppliers during that time.

 

Towards the end of the 80s there was a change in demand from exotic timber to an increase in demand for local timber. Realizing this trend, Winfried Thiemeyer modified his range by introducing German hardwood, scantlings and boards.

 

The ever developing globalization and the restructuring of the timber industry, due to an increasing demand for semi-finished goods, gave Winfried Thiemeyer the opportunity to benefit from his numerous connections which he had built-up over the years. He began to concentrate on working as an agent and has successfully established himself in this niche market.
